PS3-Netflix Update Really?

I think someone needs to retrain Sony on what updates are supposed to do. This time Sony has released an update for Netflix subscribers in order to allow them to use the streaming video service without inserting the Netflix Blu-ray-Disk (BD). This has been a long waited updated but it comes with an awful catch; you must update your PS3 system before installing the Netflix update. WTF?!?! On top of that when you insert your disk it tells you to the disk is no longer needed to go and install the Netflix update. Apparently there is an option to bypass the update but then that disappears if you click on the install now option. That\'s right not only has Sony disabled the PlayStation Network (PSN) with this updating scam now they have disabled streaming video via Netflix unless you update the system. How much longer will this go on? Consumers have the right to use their property the way they want to. I sure wish someone would strong-arm Sony into realizing this. Personally, I want what I paid for and if there are going to be system updates it should be to improve my equipment not diminish it.
